3 - Point Lighting

In this video we experimented with the 3 - point lighting to see what each individual light would look like if we were to try and use it in our final opening to a thriller film.

Our Risk Assessment

Our personal risk assessment for our thriller opening:

We are filming our thriller in on the bus first, therefore we need to be cautious of:

  • The public - we will have to alert the public that we are filming
  • The possibility of falling off the bus
  • Falling over when the bus is moving fast
  • Something happening to the camera
  • People getting in the way of our shots

We will then be filming in Natalia's house and there we need to be cautious of:

  • Her dog, incase of tripping over when filming
  • The table edges
  • Broken glass - need to avoid any of us getting cut or hurt by the glass
  • Tripping over anything - need to move anything in the way of us
  • Tripping over her cat
  • Falling up or down the stairs
  • Dropping the camera

Logo by Natalia Compa

For the moment, this is my idea for a production company logo. I like the background the way it looks like paint which has been mixed carelessly, this would link to our idea to our opening to a thriller as it creates the feel of distortion and confusion which is the idea that we're trying to get across in our opening. The breeze blocks comes from an artist, however I think this is also quite effective in creating an atmosphere for our opening as with breeze blocks you would imagine something cold and dull which is also the base of our opening.

INTRODUCTION

There are many health and safety aspects that our group will need to consider when filming as we may put ourselves in danger whilst filming some scenes of our opening to a thriller. For example if we decide to film a fight scene we will have to stage it so that nobody really gets hurt in the actual thing.

Here is a website showing what kind of things we will need to be aware of when filming our opening:

The Revenant (Alejandro, 2016) Trailer

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=FoCxFjEkdPg

I decided to show the trailer to The Revenant (Alejandro, 2016) as the opening was not available on legal websites. The reason why I picked this film was because I had already seen it soon after it was released and I really enjoyed it, I thought the film was amazing and I wanted to see how two other media students would react to the trailer, one who had seen the film and one who had not. I think this film was very fast-paced and interesting, even from the trailer you could get an insight to what the film would be. I got good responses to the trailer as well as the questions I composed to go with the trailer.

Logo design ideas Jade

For our thriller I produced a production logo. The name and pictures used are from an artsit, however, breezeblock, by definition is a lightweight building brick made from small cinders mixed with sand and cement. This means although our company is small, it is tight-knit and requires team work to be made; it doesn't stand as just one person alone, it needs others to be made. I think this shows a good company and that is what I wanted to convey.
